Schematic Design, Inc. was founded by the current president Girish P.Thakkar, and has been providing quality Civil, Structural, Storm Water Management, and Site Development services since 1994.
The company has served a wide variety of clients including Architects, Contractors, Developers, Businesses and Homebuilders for their projects such as Motels, Churches, Shopping Centers, Credit Unions, Subdivisions, Business Parks, Billboard Signs, Custom Homes, Restaurants, and Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings.
The Firm's expertise is highlighted in the area of Site development, land Use and feasibility studies, including Storm water Management and Detention Pond Calculations.
Schematic Design has successfully designed a variety of projects with unique and challenging drainage, Flood control and water quality requirements.

The residential facet of our business is centered around Custom homes, home inspections, and site design for pre-engineered manufactured homes.

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Civil Engineering: 1968 Active Licensed Engineer: Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, Georgia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
EXPERIENCE SUMMARY: Over 25 years of professional experience in Civil and Structural engineering, design, analysis, and project management for commercial, residential, industrial, governmental, and petrochemical projects. Possess a strong background in site development, grading, drainage, storm water management, detention pond calculations, parking layouts, asphalt and concrete pavement design, airport taxiways, bituminous overlays, freeway Systems, conceptual design of major interchanges, storm and sanitary sewer systems, site utilities, topographic studies, subdivisions and feasibility studies. Have excellent work experience and knowledge regarding storm water behavior, flood control, detention basins, water quality, and NPDES II with challenging drainage and flood control requirements.
Frame analysis using Strudl and Baseplate II programs for structural adequacy of supporting structures and its attachments. Design and checking for member size, computation for stiffness, stresses and weld size including moment and shear connections per AISC and AWS codes. Design and details of beams, columns, slabs, foundations and retaining walls.
